Some automobile power windows have the strength to cut a grapefruit in two. A child in a car, with their
head out of the window, and a knee inadvertently pushing the switch, is
a disaster in the making.
The NHTSA published a final rule, requiring all vehicles manufactured in the US, after October 1, 2008, to be equipped with a safer switch.
